There are 2 new uppcomming ranks which was first hinted abiut some months ago.

The pacifist rank would be an option for people who dont want to fight in factions but like the whole faction idea they could grow food instead of fighting

Well you can always ask siggi or a admin if you can can have your faction a peaceful faction :D
